Google Will Start Showing Ads in Artificial Intelligence Responses

Google announced that it will display ads in its AI-powered search, which started rolling out in the US last week.

At its developer conference I/O last week, Google made several important announcements regarding artificial intelligence. One notable announcement was the introduction of AI-powered search, which has been in testing since last year, in the US.

The company introduced “AI Overviews” to users, a feature of SGE (Search Generative Experience). In simple terms, AI Overviews provide answers to users’ search queries through artificial intelligence and direct users to relevant resource links. Recent news has revealed that this feature will now include ads, which may annoy users.

Google will show ads in AI-powered search

The US technology giant stated at a recent marketing event that advertisers can benefit from artificial intelligence features. In this context, they added that ads will be incorporated into the AI Overviews feature of the search.

In other words, users will start to see ads as they scroll through the AI-generated results of their searches. These ads will be labeled “Sponsored” as usual and will be relevant to the user’s search. You can find an example above. Google believes that people will find these ads useful.

Ads will soon be added to AI searches. The company stated that this will be tested in the US first. Currently, AI Overview is only available in the US, and there is no exact date for the arrival of AI-powered search in other countries.
