Google has introduced the updated version of its flagship AI model, called Gemini 2.5 Pro Preview, just ahead of the highly anticipated I/O developer conference taking place in the coming weeks. The full reveal of this new version is expected during the annual event.
The enhanced model is available to developers through the Gemini API, Vertex AI, and AI Studio platforms. Despite its improvements, it remains priced the same as the current Gemini 2.5 Pro model. Google has also integrated the updated model into its Gemini chatbot applications for both web and mobile devices.
What’s New in Gemini 2.5 Pro Preview?
According to Google, this special I/O edition offers major advancements in building interactive web applications. The model has been significantly enhanced in areas like code conversion, code editing, and UI/UX design. It aims to solve many recurring issues faced by developers, making the development process smoother and more efficient.
Gemini 2.5 Pro Preview also claimed the top spot on Google’s WebDev Arena Leaderboard. Additionally, it scored an impressive 84.8% in VideoMME, a benchmark that evaluates video comprehension capabilities.
While further details about the model are currently limited, Google is expected to unveil more insights during the I/O developer conference on May 20–21.
