Google plans to bring artificial intelligence to your car by integrating its digital assistant, Gemini, into Android Auto as a replacement for Google Assistant.
As a company that prioritizes the AI revolution, Google introduced its Gemini models as part of this initiative. Gemini is already being implemented in various devices as a digital assistant. We’ve seen the tech giant incorporate Gemini into many of its services. Now, according to information obtained from Android Authority, the AI model may soon be used in cars, with Gemini potentially being introduced to Android Auto.
Gemini Live will be available on Android Auto
Hints discovered in the latest version of Android Auto suggest that the service could gain Gemini support very soon. Android Auto allows you to integrate your phone into your car’s multimedia display, enabling you to access your apps directly from the screen and perform various functions on your phone.
Previously, Google Assistant was integrated into Android Auto. However, Google has recently been replacing Google Assistant with its more advanced AI model, Gemini. Therefore, it’s not surprising that this transition is happening in Android Auto as well.
The integration of Gemini into Android Auto could significantly enhance the driving experience. With AI support, Gemini can provide real-time answers to your questions and offer assistance while you’re on the road.
There is no official word yet on when this support will be available, and it’s not guaranteed to arrive. The leak suggests that Gemini Live will be added, which is currently available only to Gemini Advanced subscribers—a paid service. This means that when Gemini does come to Android Auto, it may initially be accessible only to paid users.
