FlickPlay Partners with Sandbox Coin for Metaverse Expansion!

On Monday, the metaverse social app FlickPlay announced its collaboration with The Sandbox (SAND) to enhance interoperability between the two metaverse coin projects.

FlickPlay users can now utilize Flicky, an anthropomorphic chameleon adorned in diverse outfits, as their avatar within The Sandbox metaverse. Flicky marks the initial collection of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) introduced by FlickPlay.

FlickPlay operates as a social metaverse coin project akin to Pokémon Go, enabling users to explore digital collections in the real world via an interactive map on their mobile devices. Users can record videos featuring augmented reality (AR) collected digital items.

The collaboration between FlickPlay and The Sandbox introduces the concept of interoperability among various metaverse projects. This notion revolves around exploring distinct metaverse coins utilizing the same set of NFTs and accessories.

For the first time, players in The Sandbox game can unlock Flicky NFT collectibles. This allows users to employ the complete version of Flicky across both games. FlickPlay’s founder and CEO, Pierina Merino, anticipates that companies will finalize the interoperability feature within the year.

Sebastien Borget, co-founder of The Sandbox, expressed the significance of the partnership, stating that it might be the first collaboration linking an NFT in the virtual world to practical use in the physical world. The partnership with FlickPlay aims to enhance a more immersive experience across both the metaverse and The Sandbox.

As per the roadmap, FlickPlay plans to introduce 12,000 Flicky NFT collections. Among these, 200 Flickys will possess special features in The Sandbox Game, offering their owners various high-level rewards. Additionally, there are unique reward tiers, starting from 0.1 ETH, associated with Flicky’s features, encompassing customized fashion expressions, free airdrops, and autographs.

Sandbox continues to bring partners to the metaverse

The Sandbox maintains its momentum in drawing significant partners to its metaverse. In a report featured on Metaverseplanet.net, it was highlighted that HSBC has become the inaugural bank to acquire land within The Sandbox metaverse for customer interaction.

Paris Hilton, an actress and businesswoman, has collaborated with The Sandbox to host a DJ concert within the virtual world. Notably, other prominent brands such as Gucci, Warner Music Group, The Walking Dead, Snoop Dogg, and Adidas are also active participants within the Sandbox metaverse.
