First Details Shared About the Mass Effect Series; It Will Not Stick to the Games

The first details about the plot of the Mass Effect series, which is being prepared under Amazon, have been shared. The highly anticipated series will not adapt the games’ storyline to the screen, contrary to initial assumptions.

As preparations for the Mass Effect series, which Amazon is bringing to life with a considerable budget, gain pace, the first details about the show have begun to emerge. BioWare executive Mike Gamble shared the initial details regarding the series’ plot. Contrary to what was previously thought, the series will not adapt the games’ storyline to the screen. Instead, it will tell a new story.

The Mass Effect Series Will Take Place After the Games

Mike Gamble explained that the Mass Effect series will not tell the same story as the games, but will instead focus on a new narrative that takes place after the main trilogy. He did not detail the exact time jump between the games and the series.

The Mass Effect series is being developed under the leadership of Doug Jung. Jung, who previously co-wrote the screenplay for Star Trek Beyond with Simon Pegg and was also part of the writing teams for series like Banshee and Mindhunter, will serve as the Executive Producer and Showrunner. The series’ script is being written by Daniel Casey (F9: The Fast Saga).
