For cryptocurrency investors, today marked a significant occasion due to the key announcements at the conference organized by Nvidia.
This event, attended by various crypto companies, also holds importance for tokens in the AI sector. What unfolded today, and why did the B200 generate so much excitement?
Nvidia Conference
The conference organized by Nvidia is just getting underway, with significant announcements already made. Additionally, the CEOs of Near and RNDR are slated to speak at the event soon. On Sunday, we highlighted that this program could influence the markets.
Indeed, yesterday saw the price of RNDR Coin hit a new peak at $13.83. Despite some investors taking profits, the notable increase provided an opportunity to buy below $10 and sell at around $13.8 within just a few hours.
Nvidia inaugurated its annual GPU Technology Conference (GTC) with a keynote from its founder and CEO, Jensen Huang. Hosting industry giants like OpenAI, Microsoft, Amazon, and Google, GTC stands as a pivotal event, highlighting Nvidia’s ventures and collaborations in artificial intelligence (AI).
Nvidia and Blackwell B200
The Blackwell B200 chip has been officially unveiled, offering a closer look at the details of this advanced technology. At the company’s annual developer conference, CEO Jensen Huang took the stage, noting the heightened interest by saying, “I hope you’re aware that this is more than just a gig.”
The B200 boasts 208 billion transistors, a significant leap from its predecessor’s 80 billion. These transistors nearly all have simultaneous access to the chip’s attached memory, greatly enhancing efficiency.
Tom Plumb, CEO and portfolio manager at Plumb Funds, remarked that the unveiling of the Blackwell chip was expected but still underlines Nvidia’s leading edge and dominant position in graphics operations. “This doesn’t mean the market won’t be large enough for AMD and others to make an entry. However, it demonstrates that their leadership is robust,” he stated.
During the GTC 2024 developer conference, Nvidia introduced five new Omniverse Cloud APIs. These APIs can be utilized individually or collectively to link applications or workflows to the platform for interoperability, using OpenUSD. OpenUSD is a high-performance, extensible format designed for depicting animated 3D scenes in large-scale film and visual effects production.
Mike Rockwell, Vice President of Apple Vision Products Group, expressed his excitement: “The groundbreaking ultra-high-resolution displays of Apple Vision Pro, combined with the photorealistic rendering of OpenUSD content streamed from Nvidia’s accelerated computing, present an incredible opportunity for immersive experience development. Spatial computing is poised to initiate a new era of creativity and interactivity, revolutionizing how designers and developers craft engaging digital content.”
This development suggests that the realization of the metaverse is more probable than it seemed in 2021, marking a significant topic of discussion.
