Google is progressively incorporating generative AI into its range of products and services. The latest addition is the AI-generated app summary feature, now officially part of the Play Store.
As Google advances its largest AI-driven project to date, Gemini, it is embedding more generative AI capabilities into its devices and services, including the Google Play Store. A novel feature has been introduced to the Play Store, enabling users to quickly glimpse the highlights of Android apps or games upon downloading.
Artificial intelligence will outline the highlights of the app
The Google Play Store now includes a feature that showcases the highlights of AI-generated app summaries. These summaries, crafted by Google’s AI, appear as notifications on the app’s page, situated just below the Install button. By tapping “Show,” users can quickly access a summary of the app’s key features.
This initiative is part of Google’s broader efforts to integrate AI into the Play Store. Beyond app highlights, an AI-generated FAQ section will also be added to the bottom of the app description page, although this feature is not yet widely available.
