Google Gemini’s latest and most sophisticated model, Gemini Advanced, also known as Ultra 1.0, has become the first to surpass human experts in the MMLU (Massive Multitask Language Understanding), assessing knowledge and problem-solving skills across 57 subjects including mathematics, physics, history, law, medicine, and ethics.

With the launch of Gemini Advanced, Bard has transitioned into the most effective means for users to directly engage with the most advanced models. Going forward, Bard will be renamed Gemini. Gemini supports 40 languages on the web, and a new Gemini application is slated for release on the Google app for both iOS and Android.

The Ultra version, named Gemini Advanced, will provide a significantly enhanced experience in reasoning, instruction following, coding, and creative collaboration. This upgrade is initiated through a subscription to Google’s new Google One AI Premium plan, consolidating top AI features. A new mobile experience is being introduced for Gemini and Gemini Advanced, with a new app for Android and an updated Google app for iOS. Now, with Gemini on your phone, you can write, speak, or upload a picture for assistance anytime, anywhere.

Gemini on Android introduces a novel assistant type powered by generative AI. By downloading the Gemini app or using Google Assistant, you can access Gemini through the app or via any standard method of activating Google Assistant (like pressing the power button, swiping from the corner, or saying “Hey Google” on compatible phones).

The Gemini app will support many of Google Assistant’s voice commands, including setting timers, making calls, and managing smart home devices. For iOS users, Gemini will soon be accessible directly from the Google app.

Starting today, Gemini is available in English on Android and iOS phones in the U.S., with a full rollout expected in the coming weeks. Beginning next week, it will expand to include English, Japanese, and Korean in additional locations, with further countries and languages to follow shortly.
