Decentraland, known for attracting significant investments from major companies in virtual land, has announced its preparations for the upcoming second Metaverse Fashion Week (MVFW), set to take place next month.
In a recent blog post dated February 27, Decentraland shared its plans to host the event, which aims to showcase digital wearables from numerous renowned brands.
The event, scheduled to occur in Decentraland’s luxury district from March 28 to 31, will see the return of prestigious brands such as Dolce & Gabbana, Tommy Hilfiger, and Dundas with their latest collections.
Additionally, this year’s MVFW will be marked by the participation of Miami Fashion Week, making it the first notable fashion week to embrace a digital fashion event.
This year’s focus is on the open metaverse interoperability and the exploration of Web3 potentials. Decentraland has collaborated with notable entities like the luxury fashion company UNXD, metaverse platform Spatial, and augmented reality company OVER to organize the event.
The theme for this edition is “Heritage of the Future,” highlighting traditional fashion houses venturing into Web3 for the first time.
The week-long event will not only feature fashion shows but also host a variety of social and artistic activities.
Among the highlights, Dolce & Gabbana will present collections alongside Tommy Hilfiger and Adidas, while DKNY will enhance the experience with a pop-up art gallery and restaurant.
Despite a 7.3% drop in the past 30 days and a 0.3% decrease over the last 24 hours, MANA is currently trading at $0.6478, according to Coingecko. Decentraland successfully conducted its inaugural Metaverse Fashion Week in March of the previous year.
