Cyberpunk 2077 Sold 35 Million: Cyberpunk 2 is on the Way

Cyberpunk 2077 sales have surpassed 35 million. CD Projekt RED announced that 447 developers are working on The Witcher 4, while 135 are working on the Cyberpunk sequel, Project Orion.

CD Projekt RED‘s third quarter 2025 financial report revealed important data regarding both the studio’s past and future projects. According to the report, despite the five years that have passed and a stormy launch process, Cyberpunk 2077 has succeeded in becoming one of the strongest productions in the company’s history by surpassing the 35 million sales mark.

Since its release in December 2020, comprehensive patches and the 2.0 update have radically improved the production’s performance, especially in the last three years. The company had announced a sales figure of 30 million for Cyberpunk 2077 last year.

Latest Status for The Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk 2 On the other hand, CD Projekt has significantly increased its focus on new games. The company’s current main focus continues to be The Witcher 4, which marks the return of the legendary series. According to the report, 447 developers are currently actively working on this project.

Meanwhile, the team is also growing for the sequel, codenamed “Project Orion” and increasingly referred to as “Cyberpunk 2” within the company. 135 developers, distributed across the studio’s Vancouver, Warsaw, and specifically the Boston offices established for this project, are working on the future of the Cyberpunk universe. Following the release of The Witcher 4, a large portion of the company’s focus and workforce is expected to shift to Cyberpunk 2. Meanwhile, the team on the motion capture side is also expanding.

In his statement, CD Projekt RED Co-CEO Michal Nowakowski said, “We are very happy and pleased that Cyberpunk 2077 continues to be a game that performs so well despite the passage of time and continues to attract new players. The game’s sales have exceeded 35 million copies, which proves the lasting power of the series and allows us to be even bolder when planning its future.”
