The globally recognized beverage company Coca-Cola has unveiled its Pride NFT collection, dedicated to celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community.

Each NFT in the collection is crafted to be distinct, with the overarching goal of casting a vibrant and inclusive spotlight on the community while conveying a message of love.

Coca-Cola Releases NFT Collection on Polygon!

Coca-Cola has revealed its Pride collection in partnership with South African designer and LGBTQIA+ rights advocate Rich Mnisi. The company’s team, in a statement, emphasized that Rich Mnisi’s artwork challenges conventional notions of identity and community.

Discussing the inspiration behind Coca-Cola’s Pride collection, the team highlighted a foundational concept. According to the artist, “Energy cannot be destroyed. It can only be transferred, reshaped, locked. It can also turn into many things like passion, darkness, trust, heartbreak. But it cannot be destroyed. These free forms represent both the permanence and the changing state of love. They remind us of the power that lies within all of us to choose what love should be like. Love is what we do. Also, everyone should freely choose to love.”

Rich Mnisi collaborated with Coca-Cola to create 136 NFTs minted on the Polygon Network (MATIC). Some of these NFTs are available on the OpenSea platform. The NFT collection on the Polygon network has been released at a price of 355 MATIC, along with a transaction fee. The current base price is trading at 1 ETH, with each NFT averaging around $164 based on the current MATIC price.

Importantly, all proceeds from the initial NFT sale will be directed to charities supporting the LGBTQIA+ community. For the first year, the donations will be specifically allocated to OUT, an LGBTQIA+ charity chosen by Rich Mnisi, which is the second oldest organization of its kind in Southern Africa. OUT provides essential professional services, including physical and mental health support, to the LGBTQIA+ community.

Not The Company’s First Collection In The NFT Field!

The recently launched Pride collection marks Coca-Cola’s continued exploration into the world of NFTs, building on its earlier ventures in this space. The company has previously released multiple NFT collections, with its primary collaborator being the VeVe marketplace.

Before this latest release, Coca-Cola entered the NFT space last year with a collection dedicated to celebrating World Friendship Day. For this particular collection, the company collaborated with the Decentraland Metaverse platform. This ongoing engagement with NFTs reflects Coca-Cola’s commitment to exploring innovative digital avenues for creative expression and engagement with its audience.
