ChatGPT Statement by Scarlett Johansson

Scarlett Johansson has suggested that the “Sky” voice in ChatGPT belongs to her. The world-famous actress stated that she might take legal action.

In a news update we shared yesterday, we discussed the developments regarding ChatGPT’s voice assistant Sky. OpenAI, which made a statement after many compared this voice to Scarlett Johansson’s, denied the allegations. However, there has been a new development.

Speaking to The Washington Post, Scarlett Johansson claimed that the voice in question belonged to her. She also mentioned that OpenAI CEO Sam Altman had previously contacted her to do a voiceover. According to Johansson, when she rejected this offer, OpenAI created a voice similar to the one she used in the movie “Her.”

“I was shocked when I heard the voice”

“When I heard the demo that was released, I was shocked, outraged, and couldn’t believe that Mr. Altman could create a voice that was eerily similar to mine, so much so that my closest friends and news organizations couldn’t tell the difference. Mr. Altman even made a post implying that this was not a coincidental resemblance. That post said ‘her.'” The world-famous actress added that she might take legal action.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman also made a statement to The Washington Post. In his statement, Altman said, “Sky’s voice is not Scarlett Johansson’s and was never designed to sound like hers. Before we made any offer to Ms. Johansson, we had already chosen the voice actor behind Sky’s voice. We apologize to Ms. Johansson for not communicating better.”
