YouTube has announced that videos lacking information indicating they are “deepfake” content produced by artificial intelligence will be removed. Additionally, the platform will also remove music content that artificially replicates artists’ voices using AI.
As mentioned in a recent blog post, YouTube plans to enforce two sets of content guidelines specifically for AI-generated “deepfake” videos. This initiative is part of the platform’s effort to safeguard the interests of its music industry partners.
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE VIDEOS WILL BE REMOVED IF DETECTED
According to The Verge, creators will now be obligated to clearly indicate when content is AI-generated during the video upload process.
It has been specified that if the content is incorrectly labeled or fails to disclose that it is produced by artificial intelligence, the video will be subject to removal.
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE INVESTMENT FROM YOUTUBE
It has also been highlighted that YouTube is planning to invest in technologies to accurately identify content generated by artificial intelligence.
The platform will further enable users to request the removal of videos that impersonate an identifiable individual.
Moreover, it has been announced that music content which uses artificial intelligence to mimic the voices of artists will be removed from the platform.
