Apple has taken its long-running work on AI-powered Siri to a new level. It has emerged that the company is testing the future features of Siri with an iPhone application it developed under the code name “Veritas.”
Veritas has a structure similar to ChatGPT-like chat applications. It can retain conversations in its memory, recall previous dialogues, and give more natural responses. According to the information shared, Apple’s AI team is using this application to try out in-app actions such as searching among songs and emails or photo editing.
The Anticipated Transformation of the AI-Powered New Siri in 2026
Veritas is a system built on a Large Language Model (LLM) foundation. It uses a hybrid structure that combines Apple’s own Foundation Models system with the technology of another AI laboratory. The company has no plan to offer this application to end-users; it is only being evaluated as a prototype in the development phase of new features.
Apple is currently routing complex questions that Siri cannot answer to ChatGPT. Furthermore, it is known that the company is also conducting tests with Google’s Gemini model and Anthropic’s Claude system.
